does ms have ui designers

Just like they have designers for their Microsoft Hardware products like keyboards and mice, do they really have designers for their software?
I find Microsoft Optical Mouse by Starck to be the best looking mouse ever. Maybe MS should hire him to design the UI for Windows Blackcomb... it might surprise the world and beat Apple's UI anyway...

Yes they do. I also think that MS has more hardware designers than most OEMs put together.

Too bad they had to cannibalize their -excellent- game controller designers at Sidewinder

Yes, plenty of them. However they spend all of their time studying OSX and various Linux distros to see what features they think they can steal and get away with.
